The catalytic activity of CeO2 and palladium nanoparticles supported fly ash zeolite (CeO2/Pd@FAZ) for Csp2-Csp2 bond formation was studied. CeO2/Pd@FAZ was characterized by FTIR, XRD, EDAX and TEM studies. In the Suzuki-Miyauracross-coupling reaction, biphenyl derivatives with excellent yields were obtained, and the reaction conditions were optimized. The catalytic activity was explored using a wide variety of diversely substituted aryl bromides and chlorides with aryl boronic acid under optimized reaction conditions. The recyclability of the catalyst was established for three cycles, with the conversion rate from 99 to 40%, which gained the advantage of heterogeneous catalysis. 相似文献

A conspicuous detail of the so-called brown-ring test (the analytical test on nitrate) is the reddish color of the bottom layer of concentrated sulfuric acid, which develops upon the bleeding of the brown layer into the acid. Crystals of the same color form from a solution of ferrous sulfate in concentrated sulfuric acid on saturation with gaseous nitric oxide. The structure of this H3O[{Fe(NO)(μ4-SO4)(μ2-SO4)0.5}n/n] ( 1a ) is made up from infinite chessboard-type layers with sulfur on the field junctions and Fe(NO) moieties below the black and above the white fields. An Fe–N–O angle of about 160° causes disorder in the tetragonal space group I4/mmm. A similar crystal pathology was found in the related [{Fe(MeOH)(NO)(μ4-SO4)}n/n] ( 1b ) in the same crystal class. A one-dimensional coordination polymer is formed in crystals of a third compound that comprises the Fe(NO)O5 coordination pattern, namely the brown oxalato species [{Fe(H2O)(NO)(μ2-ox)}n/n · H2O] ( 2 ). Gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) are used to provide diagnostic information in clinical magnetic resonance (MR) examinations. Gadolinium (Gd) has been detected in the brain, bone and skin of patients, months and years following GBCA administration, raising concerns about long term toxicity. Despite increased scrutiny, the concentration, chemical form and fate of the retained gadolinium species remain unknown. Importantly, the whole body biodistribution and organ clearance of GBCAs is poorly understood in humans. Gadolinium lacks suitable isotopes for nuclear imaging. We demonstrate that the yttrium-86 isotope can be used as a gadolinium surrogate. We show that Gd and their analogous Y complexes have similar properties both in solution and in vivo, and that yttrium-86 PET can be used to track the biodistribution of GBCAs over a two-day period. 相似文献

Creatinine is an important diagnostic marker and is also used as a standardization tool for the quantitative evaluation of exogenous/endogenous substances in urine. This study aimed at evaluating and comparing three analytical approaches, based on hyphenations of different separation [two-dimensional capillary isotachophoresis (CITP–CITP), capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE), ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC)] and detection [conductivity (CD), ultraviolet (UV), tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS)] techniques, for their ability to provide reliable clinical data along with their suitability for the routine clinical use (cost, simplicity, sample throughput). The developed UHPLC–MS/MS, CITP–CITP–CD, and CZE–UV methods were characterized by favorable performance parameters, such as linearity (r ˃ 0.99), precision (relative standard deviation, 0.22–2.97% for the creatinine position in analytical profiles), and recovery (87.1–115.1%). Clinical data, obtained from the analysis of 24 human urine samples by a reference enzymatic method, were comparable with those obtained by the tested methods (Passing–Bablok regression and Bland–Altman analysis), approving their usefulness for the routine clinical use. In this context, the UHPLC–MS/MS method provides benefits of enhanced orthogonality/accuracy and high sample throughput (threefold shorter total analysis times than the CE methods), whereas advantages of the CE methods for routine labs are simplicity and low cost of both the instrumentation and measurements. 相似文献

Mounting evidence supports the role of amyloidogenesis, oxidative stress, and metal dyshomeostasis in the development of neurodegenerative disorders. Parkinson's Disease is characterized by α-synuclein (αSyn) accumulation and aggregation in brain regions, also promoted by Cu2+. αSyn is modified by reactive carbonyl species, including acrolein (ACR). Notwithstanding these findings, the interplay between ACR, copper, and αSyn has never been investigated. Therefore, we explored more thoroughly the effects of ACR on αSyn using an approach based on LC-MS/MS analysis. We also evaluated the influence of Cu2+ on the protein carbonylation and how the ACR modification impacts the Cu2+ binding and the production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Finally, we investigated the effects of ACR and Cu2+ ions on the αSyn aggregation by dynamic light scattering and fluorescence assays. Cu2+ regioselectively inhibits the modification of His50 by ACR, the carbonylation lowers the affinity of His50 for Cu2+ and ACR inhibits αSyn aggregation both in the presence and in the absence of Cu2+. 相似文献

In the quest for new antibiotics, two novel engineered cationic antimicrobial peptides (eCAPs) have been rationally designed. WLBU2 and D8 (all 8 valines are the d -enantiomer) efficiently kill both Gram-negative and -positive bacteria, but WLBU2 is toxic and D8 nontoxic to eukaryotic cells. We explore protein secondary structure, location of peptides in six lipid model membranes, changes in membrane structure and pore evidence. We suggest that protein secondary structure is not a critical determinant of bactericidal activity, but that membrane thinning and dual location of WLBU2 and D8 in the membrane headgroup and hydrocarbon region may be important. While neither peptide thins the Gram-negative lipopolysaccharide outer membrane model, both locate deep into its hydrocarbon region where they are primed for self-promoted uptake into the periplasm. The partially α-helical secondary structure of WLBU2 in a red blood cell (RBC) membrane model containing 50 % cholesterol, could play a role in destabilizing this RBC membrane model causing pore formation that is not observed with the D8 random coil, which correlates with RBC hemolysis caused by WLBU2 but not by D8. 相似文献
